Cross-country roundup: Canby/Minneota sweeps at YME Invitational
Sep. 28—GRANITE FALLS — The Canby/Minneota boys and girls cross-country teams each took first place Thursday in the Yellow Medicine East Invitational at Granite Falls Golf Club.
Canby/Minneota's boys had 30 points to edge second-place Montevideo, which had 64, and third-place Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd, which scored 72.
Canby/Minneota's Zach Ourada finished first with a time of 17 minutes, 3 seconds.
LQPV/D-B's Gavin Carl was third in 17:16. Central Minnesota Christian's Timothy Brouwer finished seventh with a time of 18:03.
In the girls' division, Canby/Minneota had 19 points. LQPV/D-B was second with a 55 and CMCS took third with 83.
Canby/Minneota's Braelyn Merritt won the girls' race with a time of 19:54.18. LQPV/D-B's Chloe Gloege was fourth in 21:48.38.
CMCS' Annaliese Wood was sixth in 22:09.88. Yellow Medicine East's Anjeli Pullan was ninth in 22:27.15.
