Cowboys owner Jerry Jones clocked on head by helmet thrown from stands

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently said that the national anthem protests were “disappointing,” but it appears there is a far more dangerous pregame ritual he might concern himself with.

Prior to Sunday’s Cowboys-San Francisco 49ers game at Levi’s Stadium, Jones was milling near the tunnel into the locker room on the edge of the field. He’s a popular figure, and Cowboys fans travel so there was no hiding the billionaire owner.

But who would have thought he might have been in danger standing there? It’s not clear who threw it, but a helmet came flying out of the stands — presumably for an autograph — at Jones. It smacked him straight in the face.

Watch:

Security was standing a few feet away and sprang into action when they saw Jones clocked in the head by the heavy piece of body armor.

But check out Jones: He not only shakes off the blow but picks up a nearby hat and appears to be signing it! Tougher than the Cowboys defense? Maybe.
