With the lack of football news at this point in the offseason, I thought I would count down the greatest Colts players of all time. This will include Baltimore and Indianapolis Colts. The years represent the player’s tenure as a Colt.

20. Gary Brackett, LB, 2003-2011

Brackett was the leader of the 2000s Colts defense. The 2000’s Colts dominated the NFL with their high powered offense, but more quietly their defense who was quite talented. It included players such as Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, Bob Sanders, and the ring leader, Brackett. Like Antoine Bethea, his career was overshadowed by players such as Patrick Willis, Ray Lewis, and Brian Urlacher; Brackett did not get the recognition he deserved. Although his numbers were not eye-popping, Brackett’s toughness and leadership made him an excellent linebacker, and was a huge part in the Colts’ 2007 Super Bowl Victory.

19. Art Donovan, DT, 1950/1953-1961

The late Art Donovan was one of the greatest linemen of all time. He made the All Pro team four years in a row, won two NFL championships, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1968. He was an integral part of the Colts’ 1958 championship victory over the Giants, labelled “the greatest game ever played”. As good as Donovan was on the football field, he was an incredible person off of the field, as he was reported to be like a “big teddy bear”. The first ever Colts to be inducted into the Hall of Fame is someone we should all admire.

18. T.Y. Hilton, WR, 2012-present

In his short career, Hilton has already had a tremendous impact on the Colts franchise. He has been selected to the pro bowl for the last three seasons, the last being most impressive. In 2016, Hilton led the NFL in receiving yards with 1,448 on 91 catches. Along with Andrew Luck, Hilton is the cornerstone of a high powered Colts offense that looks to get back to the playoffs in 2017.

17. Lenny Moore, RB, 1956-1967

Moore racked up a myriad of accolades over his career with the Colts, such as seven Pro Bowls, five All Pro selections, two Super Bowl ring, and an eventual hall if fame inductee. He was a touchdown machine, as he is the all time leader for the Colts in individual touchdowns, and ranks 13th all time with a staggering 113 scores over his career. His career 4.8 yards per carry average puts him 13th all time. To top it off, three of the top 10 most yards per carry for a season belong to Moore, with 7.5, 7.3, and 7.0.

16. Marshall Faulk, RB, 1994-1998

Marshall Faulk is widely regarded as one of the greatest running backs of all time, and is mostly known for being an instrumental part of the Rams’ “Greatest Show on Turf” offense. Despite this, Faulk began on the Colts, and played extremely well doing it. He made the Pro Bowl as a rookie, and three out of his five seasons in Indy. In 1998, Faulk put up an insane 2,227 yards from scrimmage to go along with 10 total touchdowns. Faulk is a forgotten Colts’ star.
