Cornerback J.D. Rhym expected to miss the rest of spring practice

Auburn will be without one of its cornerbacks for the rest of spring practice according to Hugh Freeze.

Freeze announced on Monday that sophomore cornerback J.D. Rhym just got out of a brace and is expected to miss the final two weeks of spring practice with an undisclosed injury.

“I don’t think he’ll be a part of the rest of spring ball,” Freeze told Tom Green of AL.com. “I think it will be after that before he’s released to get back with us.”

The 6-foot-1, 184-pound Rhym appeared in 12 games as a true freshman, making 14 tackles and defending one pass. He primarily played nickel.

The Valdosta, Georgia native was a four-star recruit in Auburn’s 2022 recruiting class and was the Tiger’s second-highest-ranked signee.

Auburn’s spring practice will come to a close on April 8 with the annual A-Day game in Jordan-Hare Stadium. It will be streamed on ESPN+ and SEC Network+ or fans can purchase a ticket for $10.
