Constellation Furyk & Friends: What fans need to know about the PGA Tour Champions event

The PGA Tour Champions is back in Jacksonville for the third year in a row for the Constellation Furyk & Friends, presented by Circle K. With a field loaded with World Golf Hall of Fame members and major champions, the event is projected to post its highest attendance figures since its inaugural playing in 2021.

Here's what fans need to know:

Tournament information

What: A PGA Tour Champions event, part of the season-long Charles Schwab Cup.

When: Oct. 6-8.

Where: Timuquana Country Club.

Packed field: Furyk & Friends will include six Hall of Fame members, 14 major champions

Purse: $2.1 million ($315,000 to the winner).

The field: Among the top fields this season on PGA Tour Champions, it includes World Golf Hall of Fame members Ernie Els, Davis Love III, Vijay Singh, Bernhard Langer, Fred Couples, Colin Montgomerie, Retief Goosen and Jose Maria Olazabal; past Players champions David Duval, Fred Funk, Justin Leonard and Lee Janzen; and other major champions such as tournament host Jim Furyk, John Daly, Mike Weir, Padraig Harrington, Darren Clarke and Y.E. Yang.

Oct. 2: Monday Pro-Am presented by Florida Blue, admission to pro-am participants only.

Oct. 3: Furyk Foundation Concert presented Circle K and Ring Power, Daily's Place, 7:30 p.m., with Dustin Lynch and Carly Pearce

Oct. 4-5: Official Pro-Ams, admission to pro-am participants only.

Oct. 6: First round, gates open 8 a.m.

Oct. 7: Second round, gates open 8 a.m.

Oct. 8: Final round, gates open 8 a.m. Trophy presentation after play concludes.

Tickets

General admission: Daily, $25; three-day pass, $60. Provides Access to tournament grounds, Circle K ParTee Porch and Publix Tailgate Village.

Youth policy: Youth 17 and under are admitted free to the tournament with a ticketed adult.

Club 58: All-Inclusive Hospitality Suite, located on 17th Green with views of hole Nos. 10, 11, 12, 13, 17 and 18; food and beverage service; premium viewing platform; premier restrooms; HDTVs. Tickets start at $350 per day, $1,050 for the week.

Parking

General parking: Lot O, free at Orange Park Mall, between JC Penney and Dick's Sporting Goods, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Friday-Sunday. Free shuttles will run every 15 minutes, dropping fans off at the Bobby Jones Gate. The last bus leaves the golf course 30 minutes after play ends each day.

Circle K Water Taxi: Free river transportation from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Friday-Sunday, every 30 minutes. Park at gravel lot between Winston Family YMCA and Haskell Company, 111 Riverside Ave. Haskell Company garage available on Saturday and Sunday. Final taxi will leave Bold City gate at the golf course 30 minutes after play ends.

NAS Jacksonville: Free parking for military and their families, and those with access to NAS Jacksonville, at Hanger 511 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on tournaments days.

Rideshare: A dedicated rideshare drop-off point located is located just west of the Timuquana Country Club clubhouse. Once dropped off, fans will be directed to the Duval Gate to enter the tournament.

Bicycle, golf cart: Free parking on site for those biking or taking golf carts to the course within the Ortega area. Follow signs to the designated parking area.

Wheelchair accessibility parking: Fans who need assistance can visit the Disabled Guest Pickup tent at the Bobby Jones Gate. For wheelchair accessible parking, please reach out to us at information@furykandfriends.com.

Tournament gates

Bobby Jones Gate: General spectator entrance, off Patrol Road of NAS Jacksonville, for those who park at Orange Park Mall.

Bold City Gate: Dropoff and pickup point for the Circle K Water Taxi, back lawn of the clubhouse.

Donald Ross Gate: VIP Entrance on Fair Lane Drive, for Lot W passholders.

Duval Gate: Driving range entrance, at the top of Fair Lane Drive. Open to all spectators, including those who arrive by rideshare, bicycle, golf cart and walking.

Nicklaus Gate: Clubhouse entrance, for Lot F, Lot W pass holders, and other VIPs.

Special events

Furyk Foundation Concert: Daily's Place, Oct. 3, 7:30 p.m.: Dustin Lynch will headline this year’s concert, with Carly Pearce, sponsored by Circkle K and Ring Power. Tickets start at $29.95. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.

Champions breakfast: Timuquana Clubhouse, Oct. 6, 9 a.m. U.S. Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson will be the guest speaker.

Charity

All proceeds from the tournament benefit Northeast Florida charities through The Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation. More than $2.5 million has been distributed in the first two years of the tournament, part of an overall commitment from Constellation. The primary charities are Blessings in a Backpack, St. Johns Riverkeeper, Beaches Habitat for Humanity, The First Tee-North Florida and the MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation.

Fan experiences

Circle K Par Tee Porch: Located on the seventh green and open to all ticket holders. Fans get views of the seventh hole and the eighth tee area. There will be a birdie beer promotion for all birdies made on the 7th hole: $2 per beer for seven minutes.

Publix Tailgate Village: It might be golf but tournament organizers know fans want to keep up with their favorite football teams on Saturday and Sunday. The Tailgate Village will be able to watch the Jaguars, Gators, Bulldogs, Seminoles and other games on two massive video boards that will broadcast football games all weekend in an open-air, shaded venue left of the 17th hole with views of the 18th tee. Fans can enjoy a variety of food and cocktails, pick up tournament merchandise, play corn hole and other games.

VyStar Patriots Outpost: Those admitted with military tickets also have access to the VyStar Patriots Outpost near the eighth tee. The venue will include exclusive complimentary hospitality for military, veterans and their families with complimentary food & beverages.

The Hangar Bar: Located between the 7th, 11th and 12th holes, this new destination will feature Captain Morgan and Don Julio exclusive experiences along with soft seating and Adirondack chairs for picturesque sightlines. Guest also can enjoy a Club Champion putting experience.

Kids Zone: Presented by Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, the Kids Zone will be between holes 6 and 7 near the Circle K ParTee Porch. In addition to interactive games and sensory activities for kids, the zoo will bring numerous animals for friendly encounters during the three days of competition.

Family Lounge: Presented by Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Baptist Health, located next to the Kids Zone and open to all families. The facility includes free WiFi, interactive games, a children’s coloring table, changing tables, stations for nursing mothers, and educational information. The lounge is attached to the tournament’s first aid station, also sponsored by Baptist Health.

Autographs: Kids looking for an autograph or a photo with the game’s greatest legends can head to “Autograph Alley,” behind the 18th green, sponsored by Fisher Tousey.

Food trucks: Will be near the Hanger Bar and Publix Tailgate Village, between the 17th and 18th holes. Food trucks include the Mother Truckin Pizza, Tikiz Shaved Ice, Taco Lu and Mamma’s Food Truck.

Public seating: Four public seating venues will be available for all spectators, including seats behind the practice facility, the Miller Electric/W.W. Gay Viewing Deck behind the 18th green, next to Circle K Partee Porch (behind the 7th green), and the Atlantic Self Storage Patio (behind the 2nd green). Additionally, the FIS First Tee viewing platform is returning in 2023 and will feature great views of 1st tee and 9th green.

Furyk & Friends and the Environment

Reusable cups: Ball aluminum reusable cups will be available to fans throughout the course. These logoed cups are an upgrade from the typical plastic or Styrofoam cups used at sporting events and, in addition to being recyclable, will also provide a lasting souvenir for tournament guests.

Water supply: Fans are also invited to bring their own refillable bottles and use free water stations located throughout the golf course. The complimentary refillable water stations will be located at the Publix Tailgate Village near the 18th tee, at the Family Zone near the Circle K ParTee Porch, between the 9th and 18th greens and near the Duval Gate entrance.

Nease Green Team: A volunteer group led by students from the Nease High School DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Chapter has formed a “Green Team” to help keep the course clean and help fans take advantage of recycling opportunities.

Charging up: There will be solar-powered cell phone charging stations and digital ticketing and spectator guides to reduce paper waste.

How fans can help: Constellation will bring back its fan activation display, Driving Sustainability Powered by Constellation, to engage fans in simple ways they can conserve energy and make a positive environmental impact every day.

Time for Trees: For each fan pledge, the Arbor Day Foundation will plant a tree at Elgin Air Force Base as part of the Time for Trees initiative. Elgin Air Force Base spans nearly 500,000 acres of the Florida Panhandle. Along with being a key military training headquarters, it’s also one of the most biodiverse areas in the country and contains the largest remaining contiguous stand of longleaf pine trees in the world.

Carbon neutral: The energy usage at the tournament will be offset by 100% wind RECs (renewable energy certificates) provided by Constellation.

When at the tournament ...

Fan code of conduct: Spectators are subject to expulsion and the loss of ticket privileges for the following breaches of etiquette -- making rude, vulgar or other inappropriate comments of gestures; verbally or physically harassing players, volunteers, officials or spectators; districting players or any disruption of play; unruly, disruptive, unsafe or illegal behavior; and failing to follow the instructions of tournament officials, volunteers or security personnel.

Camera/photography policy: Still or video cameras not allowed during the competitive rounds.

Mobile device policy: All devices (smartphones, pads, pagers) must be on silent at all times. Calls may be placed or answered only in designated “Cell Phone Zones.” Texting is allowed in all areas. Devices may be used to capture video, audio or photos in all areas, but flash is not allowed. Content may be used for personal purposes, such as posting on social media, but not for commercial use. No live streaming or real-time coverage is allowed.

Inclement weather policy: If inclement weather is in the vicinity, spectators will be advised on electronic scoreboards. Spectators are encouraged to return to their vehicles or ticketed hospitality venue when this warning is given. Please do not presume that play will be canceled if it rains. Re-entry to the tournament will be allowed following a suspension of play.

Bag policy: Purses and small bags must be 6 by 6 by 6 inches or smaller. Clear bags must be 12 by 6 by 12 inches or smaller. Bags for medical necessities and diaper bags will be allowed but subject to inspection.

Permitted items

  • Umbrellas, no sleeves.

  • Collapsible chairs, no cases.

  • Binoculars, no cases.

  • Portable radios with headsets.

  • Mobile phones or PDAs – must be on silent.

  • Medically necessary materials.

  • Infant carrier, diaper bags and other baby supplies (infant must be with the carrier).

  • Motorized transportation devices for handicapped persons.

  • Seat cushions without pockets, without cases.

  • Reusable plastic or metal cups/bottles that are empty upon entry and exit, and cannot hold more than 32 ounces.

Prohibited items

  • Noise-producing devices.

  • Fireworks or laser pointers.

  • Coolers or outside beverages.

  • Folding chair bags.

  • Backpacks, camera cases, mesh bags, seat cushions, large tote bags, and binocular cases.

  • Weapons of any kind.

  • Signs, posters or banners.

  • Pets (except service animals).

  • Computers or laptops.

  • Bicycles, skateboards, mopeds, tricycles.
