Here are the 'concerns' Brady Quinn has heard from NFL teams about C.J. Stroud

Brady Quinn has heard concerns about former Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud heading into the 2023 NFL draft.

In an interview for CBS Sports' "Pick Six Podcast" the former Notre Dame quarterback, current Fox Sports college football analyst and Columbus, Ohio native said he still thinks Stroud will be the No. 2 quarterback off the board, but that NFL teams have a "few things" that are concerning about Stroud.

For Quinn, it starts with what he heard about Stroud and the Manning Passing Academy, a youth football offensive skills camp set up by Archie Manning and his sons Eli Manning, Peyton Manning and Cooper Manning.

"The Manning Passing Academy, I've been told that he committed to it the night before, just kind of ghosted them, didn't show up," Quinn said. "That's football royalty. And when you do that, that's going to set off some alarms for people like, 'Hey man, that's not how you conduct yourself, especially around the Manning family or just in general if you're going to be a franchise quarterback.'"

Quinn also said that Stroud's level of play waned when he was under pressure, suffering a much more dramatic drop-off over the course of his college career than other quarterbacks he's seen. But Quinn said Stroud had his best game under pressure against Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinal.

Also, Quinn said teams pointed to the talent around Stroud and the system he played in as a potential detriment.

"A lot of quarterbacks have put up good numbers in Ryan Day's system," Quinn said. "Great offensive line that's going to have one tackle, maybe both drafted in the first round, three of his offensive linemen drafted. There's a lot of thought that he played with a lot of talent and maybe that played a role in it as well."

But this is not something Quinn necessarily believes, saying the expects Stroud to "deliver the ball like he has and put up the numbers that he has" in whatever NFL situation he joins.

"He's the most accurate quarterback in this draft class, he showcased his athleticism ability," Quinn said. "Any time I've been around the kid, he's been an upstanding young man who's grown and matured into a leader I think NFL teams are looking for."

In two seasons as Ohio State's starting quarterback, Stroud threw for 8,123 passing yards, 85 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Stroud was a two-time Heisman finalist for the Buckeyes in each season as a starter.
