Colorado's leading rusher headlines Pueblo's all-state football team honors
The completion of the CHSAA all-state teams for fall sports is finally here.
This year, Pueblo-area football saw many names make it in some shape or form, including the leading rusher in Colorado, Dylan Hurne of Rye High School, earning first-team honors. Hurne finished the season with over 2,000 yards rushing in only nine games as the Thunderbolts just missed out on making the playoffs this year.
Other notable names are Johnathan Gonzales of Pueblo County and Amari Brown of Pueblo Central for making the second team in Class 3A. Gonzales had close to 1,000 yards between receiving and rushing this year, and also played stellar defense as one of the best cornerbacks in the league. Brown led the Wildcats with 1,300 yards rushing on the season and was second on the team in touchdowns with 18, all while missing two games with injuries this season.
