Colorado State basketball player Josiah Strong out with broken wrist

The Colorado State men's basketball team will be without another key player for the near future.

Starting shooting guard Josiah Strong suffered a broken wrist in a fall in the closing minutes of Saturday's win over Washington.

He'll miss roughly six weeks, CSU coach Niko Medved said Tuesday.

"You just feel so terrible for him, dealing with what he did last year and he was really starting to play at a high level for us," Medved said.

Strong received a medical redshirt after missing most of last season due to illness.

The 6-foot-4 Strong has started every game for the Rams this season and is scoring 8.5 points per game. The injury is to his left (non-shooting) wrist.

It's another key injury to the Rams. Sixth-man Jalen Lake is currently out with a broken finger. Starting big Patrick Cartier missed almost all of two games with a back injury but did return against Washington and is available.

Guard Tavi Jackson saw his first time of the season against Washington and is also now available.

The No. 12/13 Rams (8-0) host Denver at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
