College football Week 7 kicks into high gear on Saturday, October 14.

This live blog will track all the happenings of college football Saturday with a focus on the Big Ten, specifically No. 3 Ohio State vs. Purdue (12 p.m. ET on Peacock) and Illinois vs. Maryland (3:30 p.m. ET on NBC).

Notre Dame dominates USC in first half

Notre Dame is winning 24-6 over USC at the half. The Fighting Irish's effort included three touchdowns — two of which came on the ground from Estime — and a field goal while holding the Trojans to just two field goals.

The three touchdowns each came after a Caleb Williams interception. Three INTs = a career high.

#21 Notre Dame turns an INT into 7

It's 7-0. #21 Notre Dame on top over #10 USC early in the first after the Irish capitalize on an interception with a touchdown pass from Hartman to Payne.

Oregon drove down the field and went for a 43-yard field goal as time expired, but it was no good. Washington holds on to win 36-33 in an instant classic!

Washington takes lead with 1:38 remaining

Oregon went for it on 4th and 3 and couldn't convert. Penix Jr. hit Odunze once again for an 18-yard touchdown to put Washington up 36-33.

ILLINOIS UPSETS MARYLAND IN WALK-OFF WIN

The Fighting Illini hit a 43-yard field goal as the clock ran out to upset Maryland, 27-24. Illinois improves to 3-4 as Maryland drops to 5-2.

TIE GAME in Maryland

The Terps tie things up with a 48-yard field goal and 1:31 left in regulation!

Oregon claims lead

The Ducks were down by 11 in the 3rd, but they've erased that gap and taken a four-point lead over Washington after a 10-yard touchdown run from Jordan James. It's 33-29 with 12:58 left.

Close one heading to 4th

Oregon Heisman candidate Bo Nix hit Troy Franklin for a 30-yard touchdown and a two-point conversion to close the gap significantly against Washington. It's 26-29, Washington up at the start of the 4th.

One hour out from USC vs. Notre Dame!

Illinois and Maryland in close game

Maryland (5-1) is on upset alert after Illinois (2-4) made theirs a 10-point lead with a 40-yard field goal from Griffin... Maryland was able to answer with a rushing touchdown from Littleton II before the end of the 3rd quarter. It's 24-21, Illinois, with a quarter to go!

Washington increases lead

Penix Jr. hit Odunze for a 17-yard touchdown pass soon after the start of the 3rd quarter, increasing Washington's lead to 29-18.

Illinois up on Maryland!

The 2-4 Illini have shifted the momentum of this game in their favor after Altmyer passed to Williams for a 15-yard score. Illinois up 21-14 over Maryland.

Washington gets a W, holds Oregon to field goal

After trading five touchdowns, Washington was able to get its first real W of the game by holding Oregon to a field goal. Huskies up 22-18.

Tagovailoa lets it fly, but Illinois answers before half

Maryland's Tagovailoa hit Prather for a 27-yard touchdown pass to go up 14-7 before Illinois responded on a Feagin 2-yard touchdown run. It's 14-14 at the half.

Washington scores and then some

With a little over five minutes left in the half, Dillon Johnson ran it in from 7 yards out for the Husky TD. Penix Jr. hit Westover for the two-point conversion to make it 22-15.

Herbert backs up 2-pt conversion with TD

Bo Nix hit Patrick Herbert for an 11-yard touchdown to put Oregon up 15-14 after the PAT.

Other close games unfolding

There are quite a few close games happening early on in the 3:30/4 kickoff slot...

  • Utah up on California, 14-7, at the half

  • Oklahoma State up 17-13 on Kansas early in the 2nd

  • South Carolina up 14-13 on Florida early in the 2nd

  • Tennessee and Texas A&M tied at 7-7 at the end of the 1st

Deja vu from Penix Jr.

It's another 26-yard passing touchdown — this time from Penix Jr. to Polk — to put Washington up 14-8 at the end of the 1st.

Oregon with a quick strike to go up by one

Oregon's Bucky Irving ran it in from 12 yards out for the score before the Ducks went hurry up on the two-point conversion and Patrick Herbert ran it in. 8-7, Oregon.

Illinois and Maryland tied up at start of 2nd

Illinois struck first with a 44-yard touchdown pass from Altmyer to Bryant. Maryland got on the board right before the quarter was over, with Tagovailoa hitting Greeley for a short touchdown pass. 7-7 to start the 2nd quarter.

Washington strikes first

Penix Jr. hits Giles Jackson for a 26-yard touchdown just a few minutes into the start of the game. 7-0, Washington up.

#8 Oregon vs. #7 Washington kicks off

The marquee matchup this college football Saturday is none other than Oregon vs. Washington. Expected to be a shootout of high-powered offenses led by Bo Nix (Oregon) and Michael Penix Jr. (Washington) — two guys also in the Heisman conversation.

Vanderbilt (2-5) was able to score on #1 Georgia (6-0) early to go up 7-0. The Bulldogs were able to tie things up despite a fumbled snap that was recovered by an offensive lineman. Currently 7-7.

Kyle McCord hit Marvin Harrison Jr. for a 14-yard touchdown to get up 6-0 early. The Buckeyes missed the PAT.
