When are College Football Playoff rankings released? Schedule, time for CFP Top 25

The first College Football Playoff rankings come out on Tuesday, and the Big Ten has multiple teams in the mix for a spot in the playoff.

With both Michigan (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) and Ohio State (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) off to undefeated starts to the season, the conference is in prime position to secure a spot in the final four-team field. Penn State (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten) will also be in the mix, especially if the Nittany Lions can pull off a win over Michigan at home in a couple weeks.

The Buckeyes are at No. 3 in both US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25, and have two resume-boosting wins over Notre Dame and Penn State. But despite those huge wins, they have yet to move ahead of Michigan or Georgia (8-0, 5-0 SEC) in either poll so far this year.
