Coke Zero Sugar 400: Chase wins the pole! No, not that one, but Chase Briscoe | NASCAR
Chase Briscoe will start first in Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400.
The Stewart-Haas Racing driver, in the No. 14 Ford, won Friday’s qualifying with a lap averaging 181.822 mph around the 2.5-mile trioval. Starting alongside Briscoe will be Aric Almirola in the No. 10 Ford, another Stewart-Haas entry. He was a tick slower at 181.693.
"It’s cool for me to say I’m leading the field to green at Daytona," Briscoe said. "It’s a testament ot all the people at stewart-haas. To lock up the front row is super important to us. Hopefully one of us can win tomorrow, and hopefully it’s me."
The rest of the top 10: Harrison Burton, Bubba Wallace, Ty Gibbs, Riley Herbst, Kyle Larson, Ryan Blaney, Ryan Preece, Kevin Harvick.

Of the four Stewart-Haas cars, only Kevin Harvick's No. 4 Ford is locked into the playoffs, which begin next week at Darlington.
"It's a unique situation we're in as a company," Briscoe said. "We have one car in and three out. I think all of us know, with how our season has been, if it comes down to two of us, we need to make sure one of us wins.
"A lot of people back at Stewart-Haas are needing us to make the playoffs. I do think all of us are at least conscious of it."
