REPLAY: Clemson falls in double overtime at Miami as Hurricanes erase 10-point deficit

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney came up short in a bid to overtake Frank Howard as the winningest coach in program history as the Tigers lost at Miami 28-20 in double overtime Saturday at Miami.

Swinney is tied with College Football Hall of Famer Frank Howard with 165 wins -- a record that has stood for almost 54 years.

Clemson (4-3, 2-3 ACC) was hoping to start the second half of its schedule with a win after having last weekend off. Miami (5-2, 1-2) ended a two-game skid after losing to UNC and Georgia Tech to start conference play.

The all-time series is tied 7-7. The Tigers haven't played the Hurricanes on the road since 2015, when Clemson won 58-0 to start what was a four-game winning streak against Miami.
