Cincinnati Bengals at San Francisco 49ers: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 8 game

The San Francisco 49ers (5-2) were handed their first loss by an Ohio team and now face the other one in Week 8.

The Cincinnati Bengals (3-3) are coming off their bye and travel west to try their hand at taking down the high-powered 49ers offense. Before the break, they got back on track with back-to-back wins. In a Week 5 win over the Arizona Cardinals, wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase had 15 receptions (a franchise record) for 192 yards and three touchdowns.

Last week, San Francisco lost their second straight game of the season, going down 22-17 at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings. This came after they notching their first loss a week earlier to the Cleveland Browns. In the Vikings matchup, Christian McCaffrey made history with a touchdown in his 16th straight game. The 49ers were without Deebo Samuel, who has a hairline fracture in his shoulder. The star wide receiver will also miss this game against the Bengals as the team has their bye right after.

Will the 49ers be able to bounce back? Or will the Bengals be fresh enough to dish out another loss?

Lorenzo Reyes: 49ers 27, Bengals 20

The Bengals are coming off the bye but it’s hard to see this San Francisco side losing three in a row. The loss of Deebo Samuel will continue to be an issue, but the Niners defense should make life difficult for a Cincy offense that struggles on third downs.

Tyler Dragon: 49ers 25, Bengals 21

This is perhaps the game of the week. The Bengals are coming off a much-needed bye week and the 49ers are in the midst of a two-game losing streak. It’s hard to imagine the 49ers losing three in a row heading into their bye, especially playing at home. This is a get-right game for San Francisco before they go on break.

Safid Deen: Bengals 34, 49ers 28

This could’ve been the Super Bowl last season. And much as I believe the 49ers won’t lose their third straight game, the Bengals are coming off a bye, Joe Burrow is healthier than he was early this season and Cincinnati will have a game plan that kickstarts their offense and limits Brock Purdy in San Francisco.

Victoria Hernandez: 49ers 21, Bengals 18

The 49ers finally return home after being handed their only two losses of the season in tense road games. The Bengals will be fresh off their bye and Ja’Marr Chase is riding high while the 49ers will be without Deebo Samuel. But San Francisco has more to play for heading into their own bye.

Jordan Mendoza: 49ers 30, Bengals 24

There is cause for concern in San Francisco after two straight losses, especially with another offense that can score coming up. But the 49ers have played well at home, scoring at least 30 points in three games at Levi's Stadium. The Bengals keep up for a majority of the game, but San Francisco is able to get back on the winning side.
