Chiefs WR Justyn Ross arrested, faces charges of criminal damage

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Justyn Ross' comeback story took a bad turn Monday.

Ross was arrested in Shawnee, Kansas, and faces a felony charge of criminal damage. On Monday the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office booking report said it was for a felony charge was for damage of more than $25,000, which was also reportedly by multiple outlets including KMBC, but on Tuesday morning the booking report had been amended to charge for damage of between $1,000 and $25,000, which was a misdemeanor according to KCTV. KMBC reported he was in custody of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. Ross has a court date Tuesday, NFL Media said.

Ross was a star as a college freshman at Clemson, but a neck injury cost him a college season and was a reason he went undrafted. Ross missed the entire 2022 season with the Chiefs due to foot surgery. But he had a good preseason with the Chiefs and made the 53-man roster, which was remarkable after his career was derailed by injuries. He appeared in all seven games so far this season for the Chiefs and had three catches for 34 yards.
