Chiefs re-sign QB Chris Oladokun to the practice squad

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback room played exceptionally well through the three preseason games. The team committed to veteran Blaine Gabbert as Patrick Mahomes’ primary backup after he won the job in training camp.

According to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com, the Chiefs will re-sign quarterback Chris Oladokun to the practice squad. The addition of Oladokun will officially have three quarterbacks on the team, with currently no word on the status of Shane Buechele, who served in the role last season.

Oladokun played well during his time on the field in the preseason, aside from the late-game interception in New Orleans that cost the team the opening game. He finished with 181 yards passing and a touchdown following the interception and in limited action due to being the fourth quarterback in training camp. He joined the Chiefs on the practice squad last season after being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers as a rookie.

The Buechele questions will continue as he made plenty of fans and supporters during the preseason, but Oladokun proved he was efficient and deserving of an opportunity.
