Chidobe Awuzie, former Cincinnati Bengals CB, to sign with Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, one of the top available secondary players on the free agent market, a source with knowledge of the situation told The Tennessean.

The Titans came into free agency needing a pair of starting cornerbacks. Awuzie, heading into his eighth year as an NFL corner, checks one of those boxes. In three years with the Bengals, Awuzie broke up 25 passes and had two interceptions across 37 games.

He has missed games with injuries every season since 2020, but he's just 28 years old, and when he has been on the field, he has played like one of the NFL's best cornerbacks at times, particularly in 2022.

Awuzie joins a Titans secondary that includes cornerback Roger McCreary and safety Amani Hooker. Sean Murphy-Bunting, who started at cornerback for the Titans in 2023, is expected to sign with the Arizona Cardinals.

The Titans reportedly have agreed to contract terms with former Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard and former Broncos center Lloyd Cushenberry on Monday.

FREE AGENT GUIDE: Titans free agency: Everything you need to know about Derrick Henry, offseason NFL schedule

The Titans went into the free agency window with roughly $80 million available in salary cap space, the second-most in the NFL. Running back Derrick Henry, defensive lineman Denico Autry, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, Murphy-Bunting and quarterback Ryan Tannehill all hit free agency this week, a major reason why the Titans have this surplus in cash.

Some of the Titans' biggest needs in free agency this year include adding starters on the offensive line and at cornerback, linebacker and receiver as well as depth pieces at quarterback, running back and safety.
