PEORIA — The Chicago Bears Radio Network and ESPN Chicago have teamed up with Choose Greater Peoria, an organization with a mission to attract and retain talent for the Peoria region.

They will celebrate their new partnerships with a tailgate-style party scheduled for Aug. 14 at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.

The tailgate starts at noon and features on-air personalities and former Bears players. A live broadcast of ESPN's Waddle and Silvy show, with guests Jeff Joniak and Tom Thayer, will broadcast from the tailgate party from 2-6 p.m.

Waddle, a former Bears receiver, is co-host of the Waddle and Silvy show. Marc "Silvy" Silverman is a long-time Chicago sports personality. Joniak has been play-by-play radio voice of the Bears for 23 years. Thayer, who played for the 1985 Super Bowl champion Bears, provides color commentary on the team's radio game broadcasts.

Tom Waddle was a key receiver for the Chicago Bears, and now is a key part of the ESPN's Waddle and Silvy show, which will air live from a tailgate party at Peoria Riverfront Museum on Aug. 14, 2023.

"Collaboration has been key to the success of our efforts since we launched in May," Peoria-based Gilmore Foundation president Laura Cullinan said in a statement. "We are proud to add ESPN Chicago and the Chicago Bears Radio Network to our list of partners."

The Gilmore Foundation is a private organization, established in 2009, with a goal of supporting development and improvement of the Tri-County area. Choose Greater Peoria will promote the opportunities and amenities of the Peoria area via messages on the Bears Radio Network and ESPN Chicago media platforms.

More details about the event, plus information on the Choose Greater Peoria mission, are available on the group's site online.
