With the new additions of the University of Cincinnati, Houston, Central Florida and Brigham Young University, the 2023 Big 12 football schedule has finally been completed and released.
The Big 12 teased the announcement Monday night. Schools will plan nine conference games and will play each team at least once every two-year period. Bearcat fans knew Monday they would avoid the league's representative in the national championship game when TCU's schedule was leaked.
Prior to Tuesday, UC's opening games were set for the first three weeks of September. They'll start with Eastern Kentucky at home, Pitt away, then the Miami RedHawks at Nippert. UC will have five home games in the Big 12 this year and four next year (out of nine).
Their first-ever Big 12 game will be against the Oklahoma Sooners Sept. 23. Iowa State, Baylor, UCF and Kansas will also visit Nippert Stadium.
"We're excited to play in the Big 12," UC coach Scott Satterfield said. "We have some home games this year with some great opponents that will be coming in here to Nippert. I don't know the times yet but I'm looking forward to that as well. I've heard Nipp at night is one of the best venues in the country, so hopefully, we'll have a few of those."
