What channel is Louisville women's basketball vs UConn on today? Time, TV, livestream

Over the last decade, Louisville and UConn have been among the nation's best women's basketball programs.

The Cardinals have made seven Elite Eight appearances and the Huskies have won four national championships in that span.

The teams have had their share of battles. They were in the American Athletic Conference during the 2013-14 season. UConn swept the home-and-home series and won the AAC Tournament final. The Cardinals lost to the Huskies both times U of L made the national title game. UConn has an 18-3 all-time series lead.

Two of the Cardinals’ three wins over UConn have come in the last five years, including Louisville’s first road win two years ago in a top-5 contest. Four months after the Cardinals’ 69-64 victory, Louisville and UConn made the Final Four.

This season, No. 17 Louisville returns to Connecticut to take on the No. 18 Huskies on Saturday. The Huskies were without Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers in the 2021 meeting but have Bueckers back this season. The Minnesota native is averaging 19.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals this season.

"She's shooting 52% from the field, 47% from 3, so it's not like she's having to take 25 shots to get her 20 points," Louisville coach Jeff Walz said. "That's what's impressive to me. She's very efficient."

Forward Olivia Cochran is Louisville’s only returning player who logged minutes against UConn. She provided eight points and four rebounds two years ago, but the senior has expanded her role. She’s shooting 50% from the field and is averaging 11.6 points and 6.2 rebounds.

The Cardinals defeated Morehead State, 74-48, for their sixth straight win, but Walz knows his team needs a better showing against UConn.

"We're scoring enough points to win. Now it's a matter of getting down and guarding somebody," Walz said.
