Samuel shines: Florida basketball forward Tyrese Samuel earns SEC Player of the Week honors

"Having Micah in there, he’s a big part of our team, a good rim protector and rebounder, finishes a lot of second chance points for us," Florida starting forward Tyrese Samuel. "We practice hard and we work on like having small lineups and just like all of us working at different positions, so I think we were prepared for it. I think it showed. Hopefully, Micah will be back soon."

Samuel stepped up in Handlogten's absence, averaging 19 points and 8.5 rebounds over UF's last two games to earn SEC Player of the Week Honors.

Florida is 7-5 all-time against Wake Forest. In the last meeting between the two schools, the Gators beat the Demon Deacons 63-50 on Dec. 20, 2014 at the Orange Bowl Classic in Sunrise.
