The Detroit Pistons get back on the court Thursday, but they're quite far from home.
In fact, they're in another country. Canada, that is.
The Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder matchup in Montreal as part of the NBA's ninth Canada Series.
This is both teams' second preseason game. The Pistons lost in overtime 130-126 on Sunday afternoon at home to the Phoenix Suns, rallying with their backups after the starters were dominated by Suns' starters. Phoenix shot 17-for-20 in the first quarter, so we'll see if the Pistons' starters can defend any better against OKC.
The Thunder were one of the best stories of last season, going 40-42 and winning a road game in the play-in tournament before falling one win short of the eighth playoff seed.

They have two Canadian contributors on the roster in All-Star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and wing Luguentz Dort – a Montréal native. Both helped Canada win bronze at the FIBA world championships in early September.
The Pistons' next exhibition game is a week away, Oct. 19 in a rematch at Oklahoma City. The Pistons immediately wrap up the four-game preseason slate one day later Oct. 20 in Dallas. They open the regular season Oct. 25 at Miami.

The Pistons will again be down two forwards in Bojan Bogdanovic (calf strain) and Isaiah Livers (ankle sprain). We'll see if Monte Morris (lower back) plays after sitting out the Suns game.
