Should the Celtics consider starting Derrick White over Robert Williams III?

In the Boston Celtics’ recent home loss against the Brooklyn Nets, starting center Robert Williams III gave fans of the team a minor heart attack after going down injured in the second half of the game. Luckily for Timelord, it was unrelated to his surgically-repaired knee, but even still the hamstring strain he sustained ought to keep him out for at least a tilt or two.

Should the Celtics consider starting Derrick White in his place? Or does Williams impact the game too much to be relegated to the bench even if it means a healthier Timelord given his likely minutes reduction in such a role?

With all the other issues on Boston’s plate to close out the 2022-23 season, it won’t be easy finding the right balance of players should the team elect to go this route so late in the season.

But conversely, finding the right balance between floor time and rest could be the difference between having Williams available to play, literally limping into the postseason for the second straight campaign — or worse.

CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning explored the idea in a recent short put together after the Nets loss. Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what he had to say.
