Former Celtic Kendrick Perkins believes Jaylen Brown earned every penny of his supermax extension

Star forward Jaylen Brown’s five-year, $304 million supermax contract extension with the Boston Celtics is the richest contract in NBA history. This has elicited a fair amount of criticism from fans and analysts alike. They are grappling with the sticker shock of such a massive deal going to someone who is not a top-10 player in the league.

But former Celtics center and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins pushed back on such takes on an episode of “SportsCenter. He made it clear he believes the Georgia native has earned his supermax extension.
