CBS Sports names best move made by Ravens going into 2023 season

The Baltimore Ravens have made plenty of moves to try to stay competitive in an ever-improving AFC conference. They switched offensive coordinators from Greg Roman to Todd Monken, signed veteran wide receivers in Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor, as well as drafted six players, including wide receiver Zay Flowers.

When listing off each AFC team’s best move heading into the 2023 NFL season, Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports chose the selection of Flowers as his pick for Baltimore. When explaining why, Benjamin talked about how Flowers gives the Ravens juice at a position where other players have dealt with multiple injuries, including Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers.

“Drafting WR Zay Flowers is easily the most promising investment they’ve made at the position in years. Yes, retaining star QB Lamar Jackson was technically more vital, but he’s got questions of his own to answer. Flowers, meanwhile, has multipurpose juice in a WR room otherwise dependent on older, injury-prone veterans.”
