Cast your vote online for the May 5-11 Chillicothe Gazette Athletes of the Week

CHILLICOTHE — Playoff season is in full swing, and that means another week of impressive performances from around the area.

The postseason often brings out the best in local athletes. That was no exception this week, as another crop of great outings by area athletes rounded out the schedule. Now, it's time to vote for your favorites from the week of May 5-11.

This week's polls will run from 6 a.m. Monday until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

To nominate a student-athlete for next week's poll, email Chillicothe Gazette sports reporter Jack Gleckler at JGleckler@gannett.com with the athlete's name along with relevant statistics or results. You can also direct message him on X, formerly known as Twitter @thejackgleckler to nominate an athlete for next week. Featured athletes are otherwise selected based on results provided from coaches.

Chillicothe Gazette Girls Athlete of the Week Poll, May 5-11

  • Adena softball's Hailey Howard pitched a complete game while allowing one hit and striking out five in a 10-0 win over Peebles in the Division III sectional finals on Thursday.

  • Unioto track's Adeline Lloyd placed first in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, and she placed fourth in the high jump at the Scioto Valley Conference track championships on Friday.

  • Chillicothe track's Kiera Archer won the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes at the Frontier Athletic Conference meet on Thursday.

  • Waverly softball's Montanna Leeth went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs in a 6-5 win over Jackson in the Division II sectional finals on Wednesday.

Chillicothe Gazette Boys Athlete of the Week Poll, May 5-11

  • Zane Trace baseball's Josh Young pitched a complete game with two hits and two strikeouts while going 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs in a 12-0 win over Waverly on Saturday.

  • Paint Valley baseball's Owen Donahue pitched six innings and gave up one hit while striking out five in a 10-0 win over Western in the Division IV sectional semifinals on Saturday.

  • Piketon baseball's Ashton Cormany went 2-for-3 with two runs, three RBIs and a stolen base in a 14-4 win over Eastern on Friday.

  • Adena track's Bryson Smith won the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash and the long jump at the Scioto Valley Conference track championships on Friday.
