Toledo - You would have to go back six years to find the last time Detroit Cass Tech (0-1) lost a season opening game. And it was not pretty. Neither was its loss to Pickerington (Ohio) Central, 24-21, at the Glass Bowl at the University of Toledo on Thursday night.

Three fumbles, including one late in the game to set up Central's go-ahead touchdown, missed tackles, and a number of penalties were the ultimate demise of Cass Tech in the game.

Eastern Michigan commit Aaron Jackson was responsible for all three Cass Tech touchdowns, including two rushing scores, and a 13-yard passing touchdown to Washington State commit Brandon Gray in the third quarter. Junior running back Jaren Mangham was a bright spot running the ball, but went down with an apparent ankle injury deep into the 4th.

The game was Cass Tech's first ever against a team not from the state of Michigan, and they will welcome another out-of-state opponent next Friday at home at 7 p.m., against Chicago Simeon.
