The Arizona Cardinals added a player to their practice squad on Wednesday and also protected four players from being signed off their roster for Week 7.

The team announced the addition of linebacker Reggie Gilbert to the practice squad. He had previously come for a workout.

Gilbert has played three seasons in the league, two with the Packers and last year with the Titans. He played in 11 games last season, starting five, and had 22 tackles and a sack.

In 29 career games, he had 4.5 sacks, six tackles for loss and 14 quarterback hits.

The Cardinals’ four protected practice squad players this week are:

  • DL Michael Dogbe

  • OL Koda Martin

  • S Curtis Riley

  • CB Jace Whittaker

Dogbe has been protected before but has not been elevated to the active roster yet this season. Whittaker and Riley have been elevated and have played this season.
