Captain Shreve, Airline, Ruston among Friday night winners; here’s the facts

The Captain Shreve Gators kept pace with Airline in the District 1-5A race with a 28-15 road win against Parkway on Friday night at Preston Crownover Stadium.

Jamarlon Otis led the Gators (4-1, 2-0) with 18 carries for 119 yards and a score, while Quonti Beaner, filling in for the injured Brodie Savage, also scored. Before leaving the game, Savage hit Keaton Flowers with a 27-yard TD.

The Panthers’ (4-1, 1-1) Kaleb Williams scored on a keeper and found Michael Collier for a score.

Airline 41, Natchitoches-Central 21: The Vikings (5-0, 2-0) continue to roll through District 1-5A after topping NCHS (2-3, 1-1). Ben Taylor tossed four TDs including two to David Allen. Bob Patterson and Tre'von Jackon also had TD receptions and Jackson had another on the ground. Cam Davis caught two TD passes for NCHS.

Ruston 14, Neville 10: The Bearcats (5-0) overcame a 10-0 halftime deficit and scored all their points in the fourth quarter to overcome the Tigers (4-1) in Monroe. Josh Brantley scored his second touchdown of the evening with 34 seconds remaining to give the Bearcats the win.

Haughton 46, Southwood 28: The Buccaneers (3-2, 1-1) won their first district game over Southwood (0-5). The Bucs had two TDs from Chris Mayes while Cody Salas, Austin Walton, Jalen Lewis and Jamarion Montgomery each scored once for the Bucs.

Huntington 32, Minden 16: The Raiders (3-2, 1-1) won on the road over the Crimson Tide (0-5, 0-2). Nyles Hullaby and Michael Casey had rushing TDs for the Raiders. Marcus Willis completed a TD pass to Jamarion Washington, and Landon Gibbs hit Kaleb Tucker for a score. Minden’s JaKobe Jackson rushed for 124 yards and two TDs.

North Desoto 52, BTW 0: The Griffins (4-1, 2-0) shutout the Lions (1-4, 0-2) in Stonewall on Friday night. Luke Delafield went 12 for 12 for 267 yards and three TDs, all in the first half. Landry Wyatt had two receptions for 123 yards including a 65-yard TD pass. Cole Cory had five receptions for 83 yards and three scores.

Northwood 41, Bossier 0: The Falcons (2-3, 2-0) remained undefeated in District 1-4A with a shutout of Bossier (1-4, 0-2), which has scored six points in its last four games. Tomarcus Keith, John Sneed, Desmond Harris and Hutson Hearron had rushing TDs for the Falcons. Eli Crawford added a pick-6.

Evangel 41, Woodlawn 22: The Eagles (3-2, 2-0) broke the Knights (3-2, 1-1) three-game win streak. Woodlawn's Brendon Henderson had a TD reception and returned a kickoff for a score. Henderson also had two interceptions for the Knights. Isaiah Washington had a quarterback keeper for a score and Jaylon Allen also had two interceptions for Woodlawn.

Alexandria 54, Green Oaks 0: The Giants (1-4) were shutout for the second consecutive week on their road trip to Alexandria. Green Oaks opens district play next week at Loyola.

Wossman 28, North Webster 21: The Knights (3-2, 1-1) fell in a close one to the Wildcats (4-1, 1-0). Braedon Robertson, Jkobe Lawson and Tutt McGlothen scored for the Knights.

West Ouachita 53, North Caddo 14: The Titans (1-4) had a tough home game against West Ouachita (5-0). Mason Jackson tossed a touchdown pass to Chancellor Washington and scored on a quarterback keeper.

Haynesville 45, Plain Dealing 8: The Tors (5-0, 2-0) remained undefeated with a win over Plain Dealing (0-5, 0-2). Jayden Ray scored the only TD for the Lions, while Isaiah Washington passed for 117 yards and two TDs for the Golden Tors and added a pick-6.

Glenbrook 29, Arcadia 6: Glenbrook (4-1, 1-1) handed the Hornets (4-1, 1-1) their first loss of the season. Chase Sentell scored three times for Glenbrook and Easton Sanders had two TD passes, while Landry Powell added another score for Glenbrook.

Pineville 48, Jonesboro-Hodge 8: The Tigers (2-3) had one score against 5A Pineville (2-3) and it came from Karmakazik Barber on a rushing touchdown.

Homer 64, Ringgold 0: The Pelicans (4-1, 2-0) shutout Ringgold (3-2, 1-1) on the road. Zyon Warren hit Spencer Dunn and Demetrius Pitts for two scores each, and Greg Williams added two scores. Katrevick Banks, Jermaurion Pickens and Raymond Castor scored rushing TDs.

Lincoln Prep 6, Lakeside 0: The only score came from Lemarion Burton for the Panthers (2-3) in the road win over Lakeside (3-2).

Cedar Creek 60, Tensas 0: The Cougars (2-3) rolled past the Panthers (0-5). Ladd Thompson scored two TDs for the Cougars, while James Myers, Wyatt Gremilion, Noah Durrett, Kade Lucker and Grey Worthey also scored for the Cougars.

Thursday games

Byrd 61, Benton 35: Jontavious Mobery rushed for 161 yards and three TDs as Byrd (1-4, 1-1 District 1-5A) won for the first time. The Tigers (1-4, 0-2) got 134 rushing yards and two TDs from Greg Manning, while Trey Smith caught 10 Jeff King passes for 158 yards.

Union Parish 55, Franklin Parish 33: Jy’marion Island rushed for 291 yards and two TDs as the Farmers (3-2) topped FPHS (4-1). Tomorrio Bilberry scored on a 41-yard pass reception and on a 90-yard kickoff return for UP.

Delta Charter 44, Lakeview 38: The Gators (3-2) scored big but it wasn’t enough to get past Delta Charter (3-1).
