Buffalo Bills go full blown paranoid with new media rules
The Buffalo Bills and I need to have a little chat. These new media rules that the team has come up with for the upcoming team organized training sessions are completely outrageous. For those that I have no idea what I’m talking about, below are some of the new rules from the team to the media.

The media cannot report who is playing with the first or second string teams
The media cannot report who is rushing the passer
The media cannot report how well a quarterback is doing, such as completing his passes or if they are intercepted, or if a receiver catches or drops the ball
The media are not allowed to talk with players during or after practice, only during specified sessions
Photographers are only permitted to take pictures during stretches and individual drills, and they have to do it from a boxed area ten yards away from the field
Media are not allowed to stream any parts of practice
I really don’t even know where to begin with all of these regulations. The most outrageous one to me has to be that the media cannot report how well players are doing in their first organized practices of the new season.
While this new policy may help protect the privacy of the Bills team during this period, this will ultimately have an adverse effect on the team and coaching staff with backlash from the media and potentially the fans likely to come in the near future.

Most of all though, Rex Ryan could be the biggest casualty of this entire ordeal. With portions of the fans already turning on Ryan as the teams head coach, this policy could ultimately shift many from the pro-Ryan side to the anti-Ryan side.
Though this new policy was likely enacted with the best of terms, ultimately this new policy is a smack in the face to the people who help report news about the Bills to the rest of us. Without them, many Buffalo Bills’ fans will be left in the dark for the foreseeable future about how the Bills are doing and what players they could expect to see week one.
While this policy make work for the time being, it cannot and will not work once fans arrive to watch training camp. Outside of confiscating phones and blindfolding fans in attendance during training camp, this new strategy will not give the Bills a competitive advantage.
Entering this season, the Buffalo Bills had a lot more to worry about including a playoff push that the team is expected to make. This new policy which was likely made to take away distractions has had the complete opposite effect and could backfire right in the face of the Buffalo Bills.
