Broncos bring back Brock Osweiler on a one year deal

Brock Osweiler will be making his return to the team that drafted him in 2012, the Denver Broncos. Osweiler was with the Broncos until last season when he decided to move down to Houston to be the starting quarterback for the Texans. A year later, he is back with the Broncos after being traded to the Cleveland Browns from the Texans, then eventually being released by the Browns just to sign a one year deal with the Broncos.

The Broncos could use any help at the quarterback position, but can Osweiler help them out at all?

With Trevor Siemian as the starter for the Broncos, this can either mean Siemian could be challenged by him or Paxton Lynch will move down on the depth chart. I think that Osweiler will be a backup at most but if Siemian struggles, then Osweiler can battle for the starting job.

With Osweiler coming to Denver now, this still leaves the Broncos having problems at quarterback. Osweiler will most likely spend just this season with the Broncos unless he performs well.

Overall, this signing is more than likely for depth, seeing as Lynch is dealing with a shoulder injury. Osweiler did have himself a great career as a Bronco when he did play in games. I don’t think we will see that player again, but going back to where he was drafted to could help him out very much.
