Brewers players to pick up the tab at undisclosed locations around Milwaukee during Friday away games

Headed out Friday night, perhaps to catch the Milwaukee Brewers on TV taking on the Philadelphia Phillies? You might wind up drinking for free.

Riffing on the surprise that Corbin Burnes dropped on patrons at Leff's Lucky Town in Wauwatosa the Wednesday night before the home opener, the Milwaukee Brewers announced "This One's On Me," in which Brewers players will pick up the tab during Friday away games at one undisclosed location in the five-county area around Milwaukee.

Those who showed up at the Brewers Eve Bash on April 13 found out their drinks were paid for by that night's starting pitcher, Burnes, when the Brewers were in Baltimore. Starting this weekend other Brewers will now get in on the fun, including Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain and Andrew McCutchen.

The trick is, you're not going to know exactly where. Players are selecting their favorite places in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington or Racine counties, with a different establishment selected for each of the remaining 13 road game Fridays. Beginning at 5 p.m. local time that evening, customers' bills will be covered. The player who is picking up that night's tab will be announced in advance, just not the venue.

In addition to this Friday (when Yelich will be the featured player footing the bill), other dates include May 6, May 13, May 27, June 10, June 17, July 1, July 15, July 29, Aug. 12, Aug. 19, Sept. 2 and Sept. 23.
