Brewers fans are in mourning after Corbin Burnes was traded to the Orioles. Many feel team was fleeced, frustrated with Mark Attanasio.

Milwaukee Brewers fans are feeling all sorts of emotions after the franchise traded former Cy Young Award pitcher and three-time All-Star Corbin Burnes to the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday for two prospects and a draft pick.

This comes on the heels of the Brewers departing with workhorse and fellow All-Star Brandon Woodruff as well this offseason. They were a fearsome 1-2 punch for several years. Now, Brewers fans have just been delivered a gut punch, along with a heavy dose of frustration and sadness.

While Brewers general manager Matt Arnold says he doesn't view trading away their ace as a signal that they're in a rebuild phase, fans weren't buying it, even if it might have been expected to lose Burnes, a free agent after the 2024 season. They've seen this over and over and over again with the club unable to hold onto its top players ahead of their pending free agency.

Burnes, a homegrown player the Brewers drafted in 2016 who became one of the game's best starting pitchers over the last four seasons, joins an Orioles franchise with eyes on ending its 41-year World Series drought. They're coming off a 101-win season and an AL East championship. And even after giving up two top-100 prospects to the Brewers, they still have the top minor-league system in MLB.

So, did the Brewers get fleeced in not even getting one of the Orioles' top five prospects? What does the Burnes trade represent about the Brewers and owner Mark Attanasio as a whole? And could any more trades be coming? Here's how social media reacted to it all.

Who won the Corbin Burnes trade? Brewers or Orioles? It's pretty clear by these reactions.
