BREAKING: Mike Evans surpasses 1,000 yards for 10th straight season

Mike Evans has done it again, and with five games to spare.

Evans held the record for most consecutive 1,000-yard seasons to start a career with nine, and he extended that streak to 10 on Sunday. Evans needed a staggering 150 yards to break the record, but after a monstrous game against the Carolina Panthers in Week 13, he got it done.

There were plenty of long plays to help out — Evans had a 40-yard reception in the first quarter and a 75-yard touchdown catch in the third — but the record came when he caught a ball in the fourth quarter for an 11-yard gain toward the left sideline for a first down. The stadium acknolwedged the record, which sent fans cheering.

Evans is now one season shy of Jerry Rice’s record for consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, as Rice has 11. The streak has been frequently praised by media and fans alike as a show of Evans’ consistency at the position, and his notable record continues with Mayfield being the latest quarterback to feed him the football in Tampa Bay.
