Boys lacrosse: Vote now for the lohud Player of the Week

Champions will be crowned before the holiday weekend.

We're taking a quick pause between semifinal games and giving a nod to some of the players who embraced the playoff pressure and went big last week. Vote now. Vote later. The poll will remain open until 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Iona Prep's K.J. Delane, Somers' Miguel Iglesias, Tappan Zee's Robert McKiernan, North Rockland's Kevin Devine, Iona Prep's Jack Dougherty and Fordham Prep's Jack Freel  are the previous winners.

Joe Alvarez, North Rockland

The sophomore attackman created space time and time again in a quarterfinal win over Fox Lane, finishing with five goals and one assist.

Ryan Challice, Pleasantville

The senior attackman stayed hot and propelled the Panthers into the semifinals, getting seven goals in an 18-7 win over Blind Brook.

Jason Fastiggi, Yorktown

The senior midfielder gave the Huskers all the possession time they needed in a 16-7 quarterfinal win over Greeley, winning 24 faceoffs.

Andrew Girolamo, Stepinac

The junior attackman scored five times, propelling the Crusaders to a 6-5 victory at Iona Prep in the CHSAA NY AA title game. It was the first win over the Gaels since 2006.

Dean Hiltsley, Hen Hud

The junior midfielder had six goals and two assists in an opening-round win over Eastchester and three goals and two assists in s quarterfinal win over Tappan Zee.

Daniel Johnston, Pelham

The senior attackman handed out three assists in an 11-2 win over Brewster and led the Pelicans with five goals and two assists in a quarterfinal win at Sleepy Hollow.

Michael Oronzio, Byram Hills

The sophomore attackman scored three times in a win over Ardsley. His fourth goal of the game lifted the Bobcats to a 10-9 win over Putnam Valley in the quarterfinals.

Nick Savastano, John Jay

The senior attackman came up with three goals and one assist for the Wolves in a quarterfinal win over Clarkstown North.

Ryan Schelling, Suffern

The senior midfielder delivered five goals and three assists, helping move the Mounties into the semifinals with a 16-15 road win against Arlington.
