Boys lacrosse second-round wrap: Ponte Vedra, Bolles advance in FHSAA regionals

Ponte Vedra poured on the goals early, turning back the challenge of Gulf Breeze by a 15-4 score in Wednesday night's Florida High School Athletic Association Region 1-2A boys lacrosse semifinal.

The Sharks (15-6) scored nine goals in the first two quarters to blow the game open early against Gulf Breeze (18-4).

Next up for Ponte Vedra is a Saturday night clash against Lake Mary (21-1), which had too much power for Nease in a 21-2 romp. The Panthers end their year at 15-7.

REGION 1-1A

A state runner-up a year ago, Bolles completed the season sweep against private-school rival Episcopal on Wednesday with a 23-4 win.

Parker Kane scored seven goals and Daylin John-Hill tallied four more with five assists for the Bulldogs, who had previously beaten Episcopal (14-9) on March 28 and again during the district tournament. Sophomore Greer Boree recorded 14 ground balls and an 84 percent mark on face-offs.

Bolles (20-2) next plays at home on Saturday against Gainesville Oak Hall, which won 19-5 over Pensacola Catholic.
