BOYS BASKETBALL

Division I

Classical 81, Cranston East 50

The play of three players — Devin Sone, Eliezer Delbrey Abdul Evans — was the reason the Purple ran away with a victory over the Thunderbolt. Sone scored 22 points, Delbrey pumped in 19 and Evans had 18. Albert Kesse and Juel Goris each scored 15 points for CE in the loss.

Westerly 52, Woonsocket 44

Jesse Samo was on his game with 19 points, 5 steals, 4 blocks and 10 rebounds and Romello Hamelin scored 8 points (going 8-for-8 from the free-throw line) and had 4 assists and 4 steals as the Bulldogs got by Woonsocket.

Nonleague

Middletown 65, Prout 52

Roberto Figueras had a night to remember as he was one steal shy of a quadruple-double in the Highlanders win over the Crusaders. Figueras had 11 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 9 steals in the victory. R.J. Wiggins was also a force for Middletown with a game-high 25 points. Ryan Antonucci topped Prout in scoring with 17 points.

Narragansett 64, Chariho 45

Owen Degnan scored 20 points, Norman Fry scored 14 and Aidan Clancey added 8 as the Mariners upended the Chargers. Chariho's Mason Cabida and Chris Kozlosky scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

North Smithfield 44, East Greenwich 36

The Division III Northmen found their stroke in the second half after trailing by a bucket at the break and toppled D-I East Greenwich. Alvendz Viera Dones scored a team-high 11 points and Aidan Bienvenue and Carter Deslauriers each netted 10 in the victory. Dante Des Marais scored a game-high 14 points for the Avengers.

Mount St. Charles 61, Times2 53

Michael Hebert and Michael Rizoli each scored 16 points as the Mounties set a school record by hitting 14 3-pointers in their victory over the Eagles. Peter Burke and Tyler Dias each had 9 points and Manny Adeyeye helped out with 5 blocks, 4 assists and 9 rebounds. Stephen Garcia and John Garcia had 15 and 14 points each, respectively, for Times2.

Lincoln 70, Norwich Free Academy 50

The balanced scoring of Camden DiChiara (23 points), Wayne McNamara (20) and Josh Bergeron (16)  lifted the Lions to a triumph over the NFA.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Division II

Shea/Tolman 56, Mt. Hope 42

Tiyara Gonzalez led Pawtucket with 27 points, including five 3-pointers, and also had 6 assists and 5 steals.  Armani Rivera netted 25 points, and recorded 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Shea-Tolman moves to 3-1 in league play, while the Huskies slip to 1-3.

Division IV

Davies 51, Times2/Paul Cuffee/St. Patrick 25

Aniyah Gomes was a force inside as she scored a game-high 20 points, and teammates Jay Depina and Rachel Jean-Baptista took care of the perimeter scoring, combining for 16 points, as Davies ran away from Times2. Keylynne Collado and Yenieli Canales-Perez each scored 9 points for the Eagles.

Johnston 70, Block Island 26

Bella Gesualdi scored 31 points and Ava Waterman added 18 as the Panthers took the wind out of the Hurricanes. Bailey Payne's 16 points led Block Island.
