He told Boxing Social immediately after the fight: : I will box anyone. I do it for the fun not because I think I am going to be world class fighter.
‘I just do it for purely for entertainment and I am just glad we could put on a show and keep everyone entertained.’
Later in the interview, Westgarth grabbed his head and winced with pain.
He stumbled into the dressing room and was seen by paramedics but was then rushed to the Royal Hallamshire hospital where he later passed away.
The remainder of the card was cancelled after Westgarth won the eliminator bout in Doncaster on points.

Just heard news about Scott Westgarth not doing good. This sport is not a joke. My last fight I collapsed with exhaustion in a epic fight and it’s a thin line. I respect every man that steps in the ring. I’m sending nothing but love and prayers to Scott and his family. ❤️
