Should the Boston Celtics be using load management more?

Given how drained the Boston Celtics were in the 2022 NBA Finals, would it not make more sense for the team to find ways to rest key players such as star forward Jayson Tatum more?

Even if it means burning assets to get warm bodies on the roster better suited to absorbing regular-season minutes or even potentially losing a few winnable games? Is not having fresh legs when it counts the most important thing for Boston to consider?

The plan, we were told in the offseason, was to allow the Celtics’ depth to carry them through the regular season so the team’s most important players would not be overextended again. Once again, we see the bigs and the Jays playing close to 40 minutes a game more nights than they ought to.

To discuss this state of affairs and what the team might do about it, Bob Ryan, Jeff Goodman and Gary Tanguay dived into this debate on a recent episode of the CLNS Media “Bob Ryan and Jeff Goodman” podcast.
