Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum: Am I a bus driver or a bus rider?

Star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is no stranger to putting in the work behind the scenes necessary to push his game to new levels. All the way back to his days at Chaminade in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, the Duke alum would be in the gym every morning at 6:15, which helped convince his mother Brandy Cole that Tatum was indeed destined to make the NBA.

The Celtics star of today turns to those roots whenever self-doubt threatens to derail his goals in the present, such as when Boston started off on the wrong foot at the start of the Ime Udoka era in the 2021-22 NBA season.

On a recent episode of the “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” show, Tatum and his mother spoke about how the St. Louis native works through difficult moments.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say!
