Booker, Beal, Durant discuss adjusting together on Phoenix Suns in joint interview

January was a pivotal month for the Phoenix Suns, led by its Big 3 of Devin Booker, Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant.

After they missed a combined 43 games from injuries earlier this season, and the Suns' struggled as a .500 team in December, Phoenix (29-21) was 11-5 last month and matched its season-best seven straight wins. The Suns are 12-6 overall with the Big 3 in the lineup.

Booker and Durant earned back-to-back Western Conference Player of the Week and All-Star honors, Booker was named Western Conference Player of the Month, and Beal has scored two season-highs, including 43 points in Phoenix's latest win at Beal's former team Washington on Sunday.

The three Suns' stars were interviewed together for the first time off the court on Arizona's Family television in an interview with sportscaster Mark McClune that aired after Sunday's game (the station airs Suns' games on Ch. 3 locally). They discussed building continuity, Durant and Beal finding "convenience" living in Arizona, their business interests, and more. Here are some highlights:

Booker on building normalcy playing with Durant and Beal

“I’d say once we get some more time out on the court together, but definitely the going-to-work part of it has been there and the camaraderie and building the chemistry amongst us.”

Durant on Big 3’s personalities impacting the team

“As far as on the court, we all got the same mentality in wanting to make the right play, or the top down, I think that extends to the rest of our teammates. Whereas off the floor, we're all interested in different things, but we still have conversations amongst one another to learn perspectives. So that’s always a new thing.”

Beal on his conversations with Booker and Durant about basketball, business interests, life

“The biggest thing is just being intrigued at just how passionate they are for the game. It’s always good to just be around like-minded guys. Guys who can push you and challenge you and that hold you accountable at a high level. Conversations kind of exceed I guess what normal expectations are or normal conversations are like. These guys really challenge … challenge ourselves as a team and challenge us — even off the floor — just in terms of their knowledge of business, knowledge of what they have going on in life. It's a lot to talk about, so definitely, it’s a cool group to be around.”

Booker on the Big 3's obsession with collecting cars

They both have cars, too. They have classics, too, so we’re just a car team — collectors.”

Adjusting to Arizona lifestyle during the NBA’s winter season

Durant: “Obviously, the weather is always nice. The sun is always out. The people, they are warm and welcoming and supportive since I’ve been here. It’s an easygoing state to live in. It just feels like everything is just convenient. It’s a two-minute drive to practice facility to work every day. Playing in big cities like San Francisco and New York, you don’t experience this type of convenience. So it’s pretty sweet being here.”

Beal: “Convenience aspect of it, it’s good weather, it’s easy living, smooth transition, people welcoming you, everything being accessible, a lot of resources here. It’s great. I’ve enjoyed it. My family enjoys it.”

Booker on having his own Nike signature shoe

“It’s something I’ve always thought about. I’m sure all of us started off drawing your signature on your (school) binder, and then I was drawing shoes when I was that age. Just always dreamed of having one, so it was a fun process to be a part of. From hearing about it two years ago to finally seeing it come to life was a fun process."
