Tahiti Football Federation reveling in Spain's short tournament

It seems the football federation of Tahiti is still bitter that Spain ousted Tahiti from the 2013 Confederations Cup. How else could one explain the federation's tweets on Thursday?

They've made no attempt to hide their happiness at seeing Spain go home. The Spaniards were eliminated after failing to win or draw in either of their first two games. They lost to Chile and the Netherlands, outscored by a combined 7-1 in the matches.

And they added mock projections for the 2026 World Cup.

The tweets go back to at least June 13.

The defending champion, Spain will face Australia in its final game. Neither team has a chance of advancing to the elimination round.
