Although the Riley Cooper racial slur story was basically an afterthought about after a few weeks of intense coverage and searing hot takes (it was like the deflate-gate of the summer of 2013, kids), not everyone has forgotten about it.
The Philadelphia Eagles didn't connect the dots before they did their team calendar, however. As first pointed out by TMZ (and it's probably not going to be good news when a football team lands on TMZ in mid-February), Cooper was picked to be the featured photo on the Eagles calendar for February, which is Black History Month.
And while it's an unfortunate coincidence for the Eagles, considering Cooper (who is white) became famous for using a racial slur at a concert and the video of it became viral shortly after, now the calendar choice is becoming viral.

It's rare for something like a team calendar to send public relations folks scrambling, but that's what it is now.
"If anything, it was an honest mistake," Eagles PR rep Brett Strohsacker told TMZ.
While the controversy with Cooper will never be totally forgotten, when was the last time you had heard anyone mention it? It probably was a while ago. The story cooled after it was dissected by everyone on the Internet ... at least until someone realized that the Eagles made a regrettable choice for their calendar this year.
