Halloween baseball game features all-time great costumes
Ever seen the Pillsbury dough boy come through with a big hit with men on base? Well, you have now.
On Friday, Prep Rally brought you the story of Simi Valley (Calif.) High's baseball program and coach Matt LaBelle's decision to make their Friday afternoon fall game one in which the entire team had to dress up in Halloween costumes. Let's just say that LaBelle's players did him proud.
While there were countless costume highlights to recount, it seemed pretty hard to top watching Gumby pitch to the Pillsbury dough boy. The double-play combination of the Dumb & Dumber brothers was a strong entrant, too, with both members eventually being named as two of the four best costumes, as pictured below.
There are some 200 other fantastic images from the game available on Facebook here, so go check them out. A few of those came from a surprising bonus player, with Iron Man -- played by youngster Drew Shipley -- getting an at-bat and eventually sliding in to home.
As for the coaching faceoff, Vinny from the Jersey Shore -- that was coach LaBelle himself, complete with full sweatsuit and matching Paulie sidekick -- versus Wilfred? We'll sign up for that any day.
