If he makes $30-40 million this weekend, does Pacman really need Mayweather anymore?

The humble fighter won't accept the offering, but is there any chance we can start calling the world's pound-for-pound king "Money" Manny Pacquiao?

While Floyd Mayweather, the other "Money," is sidelined by legal woes and silly negotiating tactics, Pacquiao is raking in the dough.

His latest tilt is far from a showdown of the top two fighters in the weight division, but Pacquiao's proving he's "the promotion" each time he steps into the ring.

His fight against 39-year-old Shane Mosley is expected to haul in a minimum of 1.5 million pay-per-view buys and could eclipse two million. The sold-out fight in Las Vegas has generated a live gate of $9 million with another 10,000-15,000 plunking down $50 a head to watch closed-circuit viewings at MGM properties around Sin City.

"Money" Manny is also guaranteed $20 million. With his PPV share and a slew of endorsement deals, he'll probably walk away with at least $35-40 million. Top Rank Promotions is pretty tight-lipped about the total possible haul for Pacman, but it's pretty clear that big business is lining up to get a piece of the "Money" Manny business.{ysp:more}

Pacman recently signed a deal with HP while AT & T, Tecate, Mortal Kombat and O'Reilly Auto Parts are already on board for the fight. The HP deal could open the floodgates in the U.S.

Silicon Valley tech giant HP is hoping that the global appeal of Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao can help boost the company's sales in the tablet computer sector currently dominated by trendsetter Apple Inc.

[...] HP's new 9.7-inch TouchPad computer, which will hit stores later this year, is expected to go head to head with Apple's widely successful IPad 2 Tablet launched last April.

The campaign will include television, radio, print, outdoor and billboard components, all of which will feature the fighter, and run globally, Singaporean marketing website CampaigninSingapore.sg reports.

Looking for more crossover appeal? Pacquiao has also hooked up with a broccoli distributor. That's right, "Money" Manny's face will be featured on more than 100 million bags of broccoli.

What's on the horizon as far as future fights? There are some promotional and financial blockades in the way for fights against Victor Ortiz, Juan Manuel Marquez and Timothy Bradley, but if you're generating $30-40 million regardless of your opponent, you'd think Bob Arum can make anything happen.

"Money" Manny's future is bright even if Mayweather wants to stay on the sidelines.
