FRANK SCHWAB: This is Yahoo Sports' Senior NFL Writer Frank Schwab and we're going to talk about the New England Patriots and their big spending binge in free agency and how that affects their Super Bowl odds. The funny thing is, their Super Bowl ads weren't affected. They were 30 to 1 at Bet MGM when those odds were released. They're still 30 to 1 after signing all these big free agents, making a huge splash to start the offseason.

Now why is that? Part of it is they were probably overvalued to begin with. Bet MGM wasn't going to hang a big number on the Patriots knowing it's still Bill Belichick. The Patriots had a ton of cap space, we all knew the Patriots were going to try to improve themselves this season, and I think Bet MGM took that into account when they posted that number.

Now, are the Patriots a little bit of a value at 30 to 1 given that they've added Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith, Nelson Agholor, Jalen Mills? They've added a ton of talent and I think it does make them a little bit of a value. I don't view the Patriots as a Super Bowl contender yet. There's still a ton of questions about their quarterback. I'm not sold as Cam Newton on their starter or anyone else they're going to be able to get. But the Patriots are still the Patriots, Bill Belichick is still the greatest coach ever, they have added a lot of talent, and right now at 30 to 1, I think that number's going to go down. So if you do like the Patriots, now's the time to grab them.
