MINTY BETS: Welcome to "The Mint," everyone, a sports betting show where we're not trying to make you money. We're just trying to make sure you don't lose it all. I'm Minty Bets, and today, we need to talk about backup quarterbacks. Six starting quarterbacks we're out on Sunday, which means we saw several backups.

- Ew. Gross.

MINTY BETS: When you see guys like Kyler Murray and Aaron Rodgers inactive, you automatically want to bet on the other team, right?

- Right.

MINTY BETS: But let me prove to you once again that the spread is adjusted accordingly, and you don't have to change your bet just because a key player like a quarterback is out.

- Well, come on. Tell me more.

MINTY BETS: On Sunday, we saw Josh Johnson, Jacoby Brissett, Trevor Siemian, CJ Beathard, Jordan Love, and Colt McCoy. Four of these six backups covered the spread. And out of those four, three won straight up.

- Wait, wait, wait. What?

MINTY BETS: That means you would have had a profitable day if you had bet on all of those backups.

- Oh. I-- I like money.

MINTY BETS: I'm not going to sit here and tell you yet again to trust the line adjustment when injury news is released, even though I kind of am.

- I like money, though.

MINTY BETS: I just want this to be a backup quarterback appreciation episode because it's hard going into a game being seen as the lesser skilled, plan B player. But it speaks volumes when you prove these non-believers wrong and win the people some money along the way. So stop changing your bet when a player is out.

Stop betting on the Chiefs. And let's start believing in these underrated backups because let's be honest, whether you're a first time starter like Jordan Love or an experienced vet like Colt McCoy, remember, they don't get paid to be an NFL quarterback to suck. I'm Minty Bets, and this has been "The Mint."
