Betting: Are the Athletics the best play on Thursday?
Minty Bets takes a look at the MLB slate for April 21st and picks her best bets.

MINTY BETS: Here are my MLB picks for Thursday, April 21, starting with the Baltimore Orioles at the Oakland A's. All of the games in this series have gone under, which is why we're seeing this total set so low. The under isn't my pick, even though I am leaning under 7 and 1/2 runs.
On the mound, we have Tyler Wells for the Orioles and Paul Blackburn for the A's. I don't have a lot to say about each starter, although Paul Blackburn has been pretty solid in his 10 innings pitched so far with an ERA of 1.8 and an opponent batting average of .218.
Neither of these teams are very good offensively, batting bottom 10 in the league. Coming into the season, the A's got rid of essentially everybody, and there was no hope of them winning games. But here they are winning games. So my pick today will be the Oakland A's on the moneyline.
Next up, we have the St. Louis Cardinals at the Miami Marlins. We've got Jordan Hicks starting for the Cardinals and Pablo López for the Marlins. I actually really like this to be a pitchers' duel, but I am a little worried about St. Louis bringing that offensive firepower. They're currently batting at .243 with the eighth-best OPS, and the Marlins are not too far behind. Overall, I believe pitching prevails, and I like the first five under 4 runs.
