Video Transcript

MICHELL GINGRAS: Round one, as we just finalize this in the book-- 32 picks up, 32 picks down. But we want to break down the best moves of the night. Eric, let's start with you. Who moves the needle the most for you?

ERIC EDHOLM: Yeah, I mean, as much as I love the [INAUDIBLE] pick, I thought that was great, let's go even higher than that-- Tua Tagavailoa, you know, to the fifth pick of the Miami Dolphins. They didn't pay to have to move it up. They created this vast, you know, disinformation program that started in earnest in January. It continued through until tonight. Until we heard that pick, we didn't know what their plans were.

Kudos to them, first of all, for keeping it under wraps, but also making the risk at greatness. This is not a knock at Justin Herbert, who, I think, could be a fine, solid, respectable NFL starting quarterback. Tua Tagavailoa, though, has things that Justin never will. And it has nothing to do with physical size.

I just love the intangibles he brings. If he gets hurt, so be it. You went for greatness. I love it.

MICHELL GINGRAS: Tank, what about you?

TANK WILLIAMS: I mean, you can-- you can never argue against talent. And so when you get the best athlete, in my pay, in the Draft, Isaiah Simmons, with the eighth pick, the Arizona Cardinals, I mean, I feel like that's a no-brainer. And exactly-- like, especially, like when you think about how he matches up with everyone that they have to play in that division, with Higby coming on last year, Kittle with San Francisco, the way that Russell Wilson maneuvers that offense in Seattle, I feel like Simmons is just the best athlete that we had in this Draft.

And actually you get him at that pick, it's a steal. So bravo for the Cardinals. And I understand they have to protect Kyler Murray, but their defense is terrible too-- great pick.

MICHELL GINGRAS: Pete, what are your thoughts?

PETE THAMEL: Well, I'm going to go with-- I'm a production guy, right. When I evaluate players for the Draft, I go by what they did between the lines in college. And other than Joe Burrow, few players had better seasons than Justin Jefferson. He dominated the SEC. He dominated the college football playoff.

He had 111 catches, 1,540 yards. He runs 4.43. He's 6' 3". He comes from good stock. Two brothers played at LSU.

And he just kind of kicked everybody's tail. Sometimes things get over fought. I can't fathom taking Jalen Reagan over Justin Jefferson. I'm sorry, Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson. It's getting late, past midnight.

[LAUGHTER]

I'm tripping over myself here, bad footwork. My point has been made, I love Justin Jefferson to the Vikings. What a pick.

MICHELL GINGRAS: And, Charles, let's round it out with you.

CHARLES ROBINSON: I mean, anybody who commits to LSU, I guess, because the fact that they five first-rounders, like-- like how great is it to go to LSU and come off the board in this NFL Draft? Look, honestly, I'm sticking with C.Lamb. I just-- there's just no way that should have been a guy that the Cowboys were ever thinking about drafting and sticking into that offense. But when I sit there and I look at Michael Gallup, and I look at Amari Cooper, and I look at CeeDee Lamb, I don't know who in that scenario you're going to end up doubling with a safety.

You're going to see a lot of single coverages. I think CeeDee Lamb, one team said this is DeAndre Hopkins. If that's DeAndre Hopkins and you get him at 17, good lord.

ERIC EDHOLM: A Chiefs, Cowboys Super Bowl would be like 52 to 47. It'll be great.

PETE THAMEL: Yes, the motto would be like stock offensive weapons like people were stocking toilet paper at the beginning of the pandemic.
