Bennett Williams is cleared to play for Oregon Ducks in Alamo Bowl after suffering broken fibula

The dynamic safety that the Oregon Ducks lost midway through the season has confirmed that he is back and ready to play against the Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

Williams was having a breakout season for the Ducks before suffering a broken fibula in practice the day before the Stanford game in Week 5. He has been on the mend ever since after getting surgery but worked to rehab in time to play in Oregon’s bowl game.

Before his injury, Williams had 16 tackles and 3 interceptions in 4 games this season.

The fourth-year player confirmed after the hiring of new head coach Dan Lanning that he would be returning to Oregon next year for the 2022 season.
