Bengals shot down Tee Higgins trade offers at scouting combine

Cincinnati Bengals fans already know this, yet it’s worth repeating again — the team has no interest in trading wide receiver Tee Higgins.

Bengals brass themselves have made it clear that extensions for him and Logan Wilson are a priority, just like Joe Burrow. And Higgins was just on a podcast stressing again that he wants to stay with the Bengals.

And now ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler went on “SportsCenter” and revealed that the Bengals turned down inquiries about a trade for Higgins at the scouting combine (h/t Scott Polacek of Bleacher Report).

Fowler also rehashed the idea the Bengals are trying to get the Burrow extension done as we speak in order to better manage cap hits. Cincinnati’s desire to get the extension done early has been well-known for a long time.

More interesting is the fact other teams indeed tried to get with Duke Tobin and the Bengals about Higgins, only for Tobin to live up to his funny, viral quote on the topic.

Cincinnati remains adamant about getting long-term deals done for Burrow and the key group of weapons around him, with this just being another example.
